WW2 WOW day at Woody Bay

11th September 2017
Class Caen, Taw and Torridge kicked off their WW2 topic with an Evacuation to Woody Bay for the day. The children arrived dressed for the occasion and experienced a train ride just like those children evacuated during the war. Esprit Tour services sent us ARP Parsons and Sargent Parsons for the day. The children  learnt so much from the interactive workshops and enjoyed hearing the air raid siren and handling the artefacts it was great to see all our evacuees immersed  throughout the whole day.  On returning to school we felt the children were buzzing with knowledge and had a real idea of where they wanted to take their learning.
